Snowball hat

Not a very good picture and she's not modelling the hat well, but you get the gist. She wasn't wearing her mittons today.

Birthday card

So it's little Eva's second birthday today. I thought I would show you the card I have made for her. I was trying to make it full of pop ups but then I realised that would take some thinking about lol.  I have used Graphic 45 Mother Goose collection.
I have been busy knitting but haven't taken any pictures yet. I have completed mittons and a hat in brown with snowballs all over them, I think she likes them. At the moment I am trying to finished the dolls clothes I wished I'd never started.........so complicated. Have almost finished the coat and have done one bootee just the other one to do now and the dress and hat haha she might get them for her third birthday.

Angel Delight

I think she is lovely. She takes around one hundred pages, so you could make three or four out of a average sized paperback. Same folding as for the tree but pages 21-25 and 76-80 are folded in the opposite direction.

Recycled paperback

Hi just thought you would like to see my latest effort. I have been looking at these for a couple of years on the Internet and finally decided to have a go at one. Done easily in a couple of hours whilst watching tv. I'm hoping to do an angel later in the week.

Little crafter

Thought you would like to see this picture. Eva loves to join in as many of you know and is now a dab hand at stamping, or dobbing as she calls it. Anyway today I introduced her to painting with gesso. She loved it and did complete the painting of this wooden Christmas tree herself. I did assist with the addition of glamour dust and it still went everywhere, even into the biscuits we baked this afternoon.

Butterflies

This is where I'm at tonight

Card

Thought I would share this card with you. It's for my friends mum who will be 100 this Wednesday. I just love how you can get a different look each time with the scrap paper I use when spraying.

Travel journal of cruise

Do you remember we made this album a few weeks ago with the toilet roll stamping? I took mine on holiday and had everyday finished by the time I arrived back home, amazing I have never managed that before. Just a bit of decorating to do on a couple of the pages. It kept me busy when I was bored with looking at the sea, as if I was!!!!

Towel art

Hi everyone, well back from my cruise and some fantastic weather and now onto the deary dismal days of winter, I really hate the change in clocks. Anyway I will be doing a class this week but I will post it later, in the meantime I thought you would like to see some pictures of the town art in our cabin. We had two lovely people doing out our cabin, Samir who was from Egypt and Ayu a tiny young lady from Malaysia, I think she was mainly the artist.  I have to say these legs sticking out from under my bed scared me half to death.

Three little maids

A real quickie this week but I tried to do something different by using a black and white and a coloured photo. I have stained the flowers on the black and white one. The other picture is from Saturday night and is supposed to be a reconstruction of the the black and white one.

Dylusions challenge group

This is the page I have entered onto the Dylusions Challenge for September. I really enjoyed doing it, we had to use pink, turquoise and leaf stamps. The only problem was trying to download the photo onto. The site. I had to ask the next door neighbour to help me lol, not good with technology am I?

Sail away

It's a big photo for a change. The idea was to try and extend the photograph at the sides so I added leaf sprays and coloured the with Dylusion sprays. The flowers are made from paper towels and delusions again. I have put together an album of our fifty years and this is the last page in the book. I think I quite like it now it's done.

Backgrounds

Thought we would try a bit of background daubing this week. I did this with distress inks and corrugated card. I am going to try the same but with paints.
There is quite a lot on here but I thought it was okay. Maybe with paint you wouldn't need so much pattern.

Carousel

Just had to show you this. It's taken me a couple of days to do but all I have to do now is to fill the jars with sweets. I stuck whatever I could find onto the lids, beads, buttons, a heart, a bird etc and then sprayed them gold. The carousel is made from thick card which had a corrugated centre so I was able to make wells to place the jars in but still leaving a base. The stanchions were chopsticks, so we can't have Chinese again now, also sprayed gold. I did all the spraying when it was complete apart from the roof. I place a further circle of card over the chopsticks and the tube from a paper towel. Kebab sticks were placed at an angle to shape the roof. I then measured a cut eight triangles and stuck the sides together to form the roof. The top was a empty ribbon reel sprayed gold. Just added some bunting for fun. This will be the centre piece for our golden wedding party. I am quite pleased with it.

Travel journal

So thanks for visiting to see what you need a toilet roll

It's to make your own stamps

Resulting in your pages for your journal

I think it's pretty cool and will show you the finished article on Wednesday. It won't be completed until October though when we are off cruising again, but maybe some of you can fill it in already. Hope you like it and don't forget your empty toilet roll. Lol....

70s style

When I started sticking the torn pages on I discovered the name David on several of them. WIERD!!!
So I chose this photo to scrap, mid seventies I guess, I think we were at a Pontins somewhere, but hey check out those specs!! Hope you like it's from issue 23 of Scrap 365 by Gabrielle Pollacco.

Double card

I went to a 50th party last night, except it was a double 50th. My friends daughter and her husband were both 50 in the same week. So I made this card..."......

It's been guessed, stencilled, distressed, coloured with pencils and wet brushed. Then there is a small card for each of them in the pockets.  I do love this bird stamp by Dina Wakeley. Be back tomorrow with this weeks page x

Tattered Flowers part 2

I'm back, bit of a natural break there as I hit the wrong button but managed to save it.

This is the stage you should be at now with the centre, tiny flower and the cone.
On the remaining flowers that you put on you need to curl the edges of the petals with a cocktail stick. I generally make mine go in different directions, hate too much uniformity and it is tattered!

Add the remaining flowers, first the two medium ones and then the three large ones.
Next its time to add the calex, try to get it into a cone shape and put glue around the top edge so that it attaches to the petals.
Take the leaf, add veins if you want to, and put some glue on the stem at the end of the leaf and a bit on the leaf so that you can attach it to the base of the petals.
Leave to dry.
Try to attach your tape as close to the petals as possible. Hold onto the tape and twist your stick so that the tape winds round the stick.  The tape is stretchy and sticky so stretch it a bit as you wind down the stick.  The flower is now finished but I have added a couple of gold ribbons around the stem, next to the leaf for an added bit of interest.
