Bubbles

This is challenge four in my art journaling group. I'm enjoying doing these challenges and I'm trying to use a different medium for each one. This time I have used neo colour 11 water soluble crayons. Painted over them with water and used black and white pens for decorating.

More art journaling

These are my first two pages from the new art journaling blog I belong to. The one on the left is to use your initials to do a page. This was just a painted background and then some doodling with black and white pens. The chicken one was titled flattering fabrics. I made these chickens during a workshop when I was patch working and never did use them. But I saved them and hey presto they fitted perfectly for this page. Background was painted and the picket fence was just strips of white card. Food for chickens was split peas, they came in useful for something as well.

Started to do a bit

It's a little difficult to see this, but a little person has just moved to endear you and wanted a frozen bedroom. This was a pine unit we used to keep her books in. Now it's her bedside cabinet. I painted it with white emulsion two or three times and when it was dry embossed snowflakes all over it. The handle I painted blue and sprinkled blue glitter over it. When it was dry I varnished the whole thing. She loves it anyway.

Art journaling pages

Another three pages for the art journaling group I joined. The first one was for the theme numbers.  The second was trees. I did this one with Eva using my handprint for the trunk and Eva's for the branches. We then finger dabbed the leaves and blossom. The third photo is of a card I sent dave for our anniversary for about five years, each year I added something extra to the card and put again and again etc inside. He finally fell in last year that I had been sending him the same one over and over.

Holiday blog

Hi it's so great to have a bit of sun and relaxation. I have done a few pages in my journal for a group I joined called fabulous and free art journaling-irreversibly moi. I took a few meagre supplies with me so I am having to dig deep.  The first one was movies, mine is the green mile, second was your name and the third one was to do a page without using a brush.

Feet

Just a little post of a page I have done for a challenge journaling group I have joined. I'm way behind though as they are now on challenge six. I drew these feet (my feet) a few years ago on holiday but the original was a bit small so I have enlarged them. Hopefully will be reacting the picture this week. See you soon x

New from old

I've been busy making a dress for Eva from one of my old summer tops. I just cut off the top, turned over the edge and then about 6/7 rows of shearing elastic. Cut the straps from the discard top and made cross over straps (stops them from slipping down) and added the rest to the waist to make a bow on the front. She loves it, another dancing dress and it fitted perfectly, just need the sun to shine so she can wear it.

Journal cover

Hi, just thought I'd share a journal cover I made the other day at Katherine's class. It started off as plain cream cotton which was sprayed with Tumble dye sprays by SEI. Then a bit of stamping and colouring. It was machined together with a back and some wadding and I did a running stitch on the outer edges to join the inner flaps to the main cover. I stitched along some stamped lines with normal cotton. Finally stuck down JOURNAL, bird and butterfly and covered with glossy accents.

Happy birthday 90

I spent a couple of hours yesterday making this luxurious card for a very special lady. Irene is my daughter in law Amanda's mum and she is 90 years old today. She will be surrounded by friends and relations from near and far at her celebration afternoon tea at Wistow Garden Centre. Happy birthday Irene x

Wee note

As you know we now have a new downstairs bathroom, situated directly in front of our kitchen. The downside is that the kitchen window looks directly into the bathroom. Ah! But we have a plan!!!

New bathroom

Well it's finally finished, just the floor to go and hopefully that will be sorted this week along with the decorating and the cleaning of the wooden floor.  Then it's getting all my crafting bits back downstairs and then onto sorting out the garden. The page below is having this photo of the bathroom on it when I have printed it out and a few more embellishments. We are still trying to get use to the new layout and the outside of the house looks really different. Well hope you'll be able to see it for yourself soon......

Art journaling - bubbles

I did this page the other day after being inspired by Tracy Scott -My Mixed Media Journey, I just love all her work.  This one kind of reflects the state of my mind during the last few weeks. Feel in a better place now so will try something a bit more springlike next time.

Dining table and chairs makeover

Finally finished the table and chairs maker. I have used Annie Sloan paint in Emile.  The fabric is the pair of curtains from the window which is being blocked in to form the new bathroom wall. I am quite pleased with the result and it has lightened the room a little bit.

Little cabinet

I bought this little pine cabinet from a charity shop in Exeter last November for £4.00, unfortunately I forgot to take any photos of the "before". I have given it two coats of Craig and Rose chalky emulsion in Saxe Blue.  I think it was around £2.00 for this sample pot and I have about half a pot left. I finished with a little treasure gold distressing. It was a jewellery box, it now holds my day to day makeup.

Revamp

I thought I'd give the dining room table and chairs a revamp whilst the building work was taking place. I was a bit scared about tackling such a big job, six chairs and a very large extending table. As the window in the dining room is being bricked up to form one of the bathroom walls the curtains I brought quite recently have no purpose so I have used them to upholster the dining chairs. Up to now I have done four.  I will post a picture of the finished articles.

Dolls knitted outfit

Finally finished the dolls outfit. I haven't knitted anything like this since I had Karen.  Hope little Eva treats it with as much love and care as I have put into it.

Colours

Can't quite remember where this photo was taken, could have been in Maderia or maybe Spain, all I do know is that I was definitely lots younger and lots slimmer, and not afraid of wearing colours!!!! The octagons are cut on the Scan n cut from some of my Gelli plate practice pieces.  There is lots of inking and two colours of ribbon. The flowers are Tim Holtz tattered floral garland with a drop of liquid pearls. I think I'm loving this page and I hope you like it too. Inspiration came from Pinterest sketch.

Just a Heart

Just adding this heart very quickly.  I was looking for something else and came across this in Folded Book Heart. I love it. It's made from a hardback and uses the centre forty
pages. The are some very precise measurements and once you have them the rest is easy. If you want to have a go bring a hardback book with you, mine measured about 20 cms in length and had 286 pages.

I love this recycling of old books.

Hearts and flowers

Well here it is your very own valentines pressie.  If you have an old paperback or two then please bring them along. First there is the lovely open rose and second, well it's really an apple but leave off the leaf and stalk and it could pass for a heart do you think? I was thinking of making a few roses and sticking them onto an oasis or polystyrene ball to hang in my new bathroom for a bit of a shabby chic look. Well we will see!

Family Tree

Not quiet finished yet so just posting as far as I have got to at the moment. It's taking me a while as I'm trying to cut your pieces as I go along. I saw this on Pinterest so I will let you see the original and the lady in questions name tomorrow.

Little diva

Gosh, it seams so long since we last did anything together. If it's not too late A Happy New Year to everyone. Well I finally managed to get around to having a go on my new baby Scan n Cut, long story but I couldn't get into the instructions for ages. Anyway I have done all this page using said machine. I am still struggling with the depth of cut but I think it's because I am using Bazzil card which is textured.
